“On Broadway” by  Jim Donovan

I've used the opening lyric from "On Broadway" by Stoller & Leiber, sung by everyone:-) as an opening to my "Living the Life of your Dreams" seminar since it has a very special meaning to me.

"They say the neon lights are bright on Broadway.

They say there's always magic in the air.

But when you're walking down the street

And you ain't got enough to eat

The glitter rubs off and you're nowhere!"

It reminds me of when I was down and out and gives me incredible gratitude for how far I've come. There but for the Grace of God . . . I find it a good starting point for people who are trying to put their own lives back together and is a great segue into my talk about how to change your situation, no matter what, and learn to design the life of your dreams.
